This is Ali, who is 34 years old. He’s married, and he lives in Lebanon with his wife Kawakeb, the mother of their two school-aged children. Ali is doing the best he can to support his family and offer them a suitable life.
In 1998, Ali opened his own garage. He started work painting cars, attracting customers from all over the surrounding areas.
Even though he earns an okay income, Ali suffers from a bad financial situation. For that reason, he’s requesting a loan from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l to purchase a new electrical generator for his business. In that way, he will be able to do his work properly, without worrying about not having electricity. Not to mention that this will help him satisfy his clients anytime they ask for his help as well.
In the future, he plans to open a bigger garage where he can serve more clients.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
