Jaafar is a 50-year-old Lebanese married man who is living with his wife. They have three children; one is working and two others are still attending school. He’s the one responsible for his family and looking to enhance their way of living. He has big responsibilities especially paying his children’s study fees.
He has owned a pick up for the past 29 years. His job consists of selling products, fruits and vegetables to the neighboring villages upon request. With all these years of experience, Jaafar became expert in his field and more than this, able to respond rapidly to his clients' demands.
Today, to increase his earnings, Jaafar is asking to borrow a loan from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l. to purchase the needed quantity of provisions and fruits for his business to be able to improve his sales. This will certainly boost his revenues and develop his job. In the future, he plans to hire someone to work on his behalf.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
