Yuliana is a young, 21 year old wife andmother. She now has two children and continues to live in a rural area of the district of Tambogrande. She asked Kiva for a loan before improve her business raising and selling animals.

After the loan that was offered, a lot of things in her life improved. In the first place, she has another child and she also spends more time with her husband, since he got a new job close to the area where they live. Her community is still awaiting access to the main basic services (water and electricity) to obtain a better quality of life.

On the other hand, in her business, she continues to raising and selling sheep and poultry, always trying to get better quality feed so they can develop healthily and be sold at a better price. Her husband helps her with the sheep, taking them to pasture in areas where they can find natural fodder. In addition, she has started to sell clothing to the area residents. With this income and that from her husband's job, they hope to get their children ahead and offer them a better education and quality of life.

Yuliana is again asking for a loan of 1000 nuevos soles that she's planning on using to buy balanced feed and a lot of winter clothing merchandise. With these actions, she plans to keep growing as a businesswoman.

Yuliana es una joven madre de familia de 21 años de edad, tiene ahora dos hijos y continúa viviendo en la zona rural del distrito agrícola de Tambogrande. Ella había solicitado a Kiva un crédito anteriormente para mejorar su negocio de crianza y venta de animales.

Después del crédito brindado, muchas cosas en su vida han mejorado, en primer lugar ya tiene un hijo más y también pasa más tiempo junto a su esposo, ya que este ha conseguido un nuevo trabajo cerca a la zona en donde residen. Su comunidad aún se encuentra esperando el acceso a los principales servicios básicos (agua y electricidad) para poder obtener una mejor calidad de vida.

Por otro lado, en cuanto a su negocio, ella continúa dedicándose a la crianza y venta de ovejas y aves de corral, tratando siempre de conseguir alimentos de mejor calidad para lograr que desarrollen saludablemente y puedan ser vendidos a un mejor precio, en cuanto a las ovejas, su esposo le ayuda llevándolas a pastar a zonas en donde pueden encontrar pastos naturales. Adicionalmente ha empezado a comercializar prendas de vestir entre los habitantes de la zona. Con estos ingresos y los que provee el trabajo de su esposo, esperan sacar adelante a sus pequeños hijos y brindarles una mejor educación y calidad de vida.

Yuliana se encuentra solicitando nuevamente un crédito de 1000 nuevos soles que planea utilizar en la compra de alimentos balanceados y un lote de mercadería en ropa de invierno. Con estas acciones ella planea seguir creciendo como empresaria.

Concurrent and Successive Loans

Our Field Partners often work with borrowers over a series of loans as the borrowers build credit, take out bigger loans, and expand their businesses. In order to make it easier for our Field Partners to post loans for borrowers who have been listed on Kiva before, we allow them to post successive and concurrent loans for their Kiva borrowers. This means that our Field Partners are able to post a borrower's second, third, etc., loan on Kiva without having to re-enter all of the borrower's information.

This borrower has been listed on Kiva before, so you'll see an updated loan description, as well as excerpts of the original descriptions from earlier loans. Most borrowers take out loans consecutively, meaning that they receive a second loan after having repaid the first. However, sometimes our Field Partners give out concurrent loans, allowing borrowers to take out one primary loan and a secondary "add-on" loan along with it. These "add-on" loans are typically smaller than the borrower's primary loan and serve a different purpose. Because Field Partners can now post loans as successive and concurrent loans, you will be able to track borrower progress over time and see the various ways a borrower is working with our Field Partners through funds from Kiva’s lenders.
