Maiy, 41, is married and lives with her four children in Takeo province. She works as a farmer, making approximately US $1.50 each day, and her husband works in construction. Her family is also supported by her husband’s US $2 income each day, along with the income of two children who work in garment factories. Maiy is asking for a loan of US $1000 to purchase fertilizer and raise pigs. She believes that these purchases will allow her to increase her income and be able to better support her large family.
