Julius is 50 years old, married and raising a big family; his wife and eight children. His wife is a farmer. As the main source of income for his family, Julius operates a meat goat business selling at the market mostly to people buying for slaughter, after having started this business last year with only two goats Thanks to persistent work, Julius currently has increased his purchase and he can now buy up to five goats. With an aim to further develop his business, Julius turned to Yehu for a loan in the amount of 40,000 KES for the purchase eight goats. He plans to invest the income from the loan in further expanding his business, and he dreams of owning a rental house in future.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
