Medelyn is a single mother of two children. She is 40 years old and lives in Gabayan, Lazi, Siquijor.
Medelyn sells ready-to-wear products to earn a living. She has had this business for two years. Each month, she earns at least PHP 15,000 doing this type of work. She has requested a loan of PHP 5,000 to purchase a new set of ready-to-wear products to sell.
Medelyn was newly recognized as a member of Paglaum Multi Purpose Cooperative on June 18, 2012. Medelyn would like to establish strong and progressive marketing in her business in the future.
About Paglaum Multi-Purpose Cooperative
Paglaum Multi-Purpose Cooperative (PMPC) was founded in 1992 by the beneficiaries, parents and staff of the Paglaum Community Development Foundation to address economic and livelihood activities for sustainability. The organization operates in the northwestern provinces of Mindanao and Visayas.
In the local vernacular, “paglaum” means “hope.” The initial foundation is dedicated to child development through a holistic approach. The goal is to build self-reliance and expand opportunity so the poorest of the poor can help themselves.
