In order to meet the different responsibilities of her family, she has been working as a hairstylist in her district for 10 years. In addition, she sells hairpieces and cosmetic products. She gets her supplies at a market in Bénin. In the hopes of meeting the demand of her customers and to increase her turnover and her income, Martine is requesting, along with the other members of the DIEU EST GRAND group, her first loan through ALIDé. This loan will certainly allow her to raise the level of her business and to earn larger profits.

Le groupe DIEU EST GRAND est composé de trois personnes qui habitent le même quartier. C'est la première fois que ce groupe sollicite l'aide financier de ALIDé, afin d'élever le niveau de son activité. La représentante du groupe, du nom de Martine est celle qui a la main levée sur la photo. Martine est âgée de 42 ans et a arrêté l’école au niveau universitaire. Martine a également appris la coiffure. Martine est mariée à un certain Gilbert. Le couple a trois enfants tous scolarisés et à leur charge. Martine vit ensemble avec son mari et ses enfants. Afin d’assurer les diverses charges de la famille, Martine exerce depuis dix ans, la coiffure dans son quartier. De façon secondaire, Martine vend des mèches et des produits cosmétiques. Martine s’approvisionne dans un marché du Bénin. Dans la quête de la satisfaction de sa clientèle et pour accroître son chiffre d’affaires et son revenu, Martine sollicite ensemble avec les autres membres du groupe DIEU EST GRAND, un premier crédit auprès de ALIDé. Ce crédit leur permettra surement à hausser le niveau de leur activité et à se faire plus de profit

Alidé is a Beninese NGO that works to reduce poverty by offering sustainable access to productive loans like this one in addition to savings, training sessions, and social work to low-income families.

Supporters of this loan should be aware that there is some risk of being repaid late. Because the Beninois Ministry of Finance has imposed restrictions on the amount of money Alidé can send to Kiva, the organization can only send monthly repayments in installments smaller than $13,000. This means that some Kiva lenders may receive their repayments late. However, Alidé remains a healthy institution in good standing with its creditors, and Kiva would like to continue working to support its clients.
