Shee is a twenty-five-old single gentleman. He lives in Mwambalazi, Southern Coast of Kenya. He has been running a charcoal selling business for the last two years. He supplements his income by selling coconuts. His biggest challenge is inadequate capital to purchase stock. His personal goal is to save money and go to college and his business goal is to expand his business into new markets. Shee would like a loan to buy sacks of charcoal for sale.
He narrates that his major challenge is high transport cost. Shee lives in his own house that has neither electricity nor piped water.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
