Ehsan is a 52-year-old Lebanese married woman who lives with her husband and 3 children. She worked in libraries for many years and after gaining the needed experience, she decided to open her own library in 2010, located in her town. Her husband has worked as a supervisor in a local school since 2001 in order to supplement the family’s income. Today, Ehsan is requesting a loan from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l to purchase books, documents, and all required stationary since her sales rate increases just before the scholarly and academic years begin. This is her first Kiva loan and she hopes to be able to satisfy her clients' demands and get superior financial benefits.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
