Salman is an adult married man. He’s 59 years old, Lebanese, and living with his wife and five children. Two of his children are still attending school and the three others are working. He’s trying the best he can to support his family and offer them a good way of living. From time to time, his children’s support is considered very necessary, just to be able to cover heavier costs. Salman has been working as a taxi driver for many years. He works on a freelance basis upon requests. Since he wishes to pay his car’s mechanic fees and perform necessary maintenance on it, Salman is asking today to borrow a loan from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l. This will facilitate his job and allow him to transport his customers safely. In the near future, buying a new van will improve his life financially.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
