Dalal is a 60-year-old Lebanese married woman. She lives with her husband and only one child who is still studying. She and her husband collaborate together in order to pay their family expenses and their child’s educational fees. Dalal has been working independently as a babysitter since 2005. She has more than twenty years of experience in this domain. She visits her customers at home and also welcomes some of them at her place. As for her husband, he has been working as a furniture painter. Today, she’s asking for a loan from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l to renovate the room in which she babysits the kids. This Kiva loan will improve the place and allow her to attract more customers. In the future, she plans to open her own nursery.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
