Marife lives in Jimenez, Misamis Occidental. She has been earning a living through proving transportation services for five years so as to support the needs of her two children. She gets an income of 5,000 PHP a month for this business.
For a 31-year-old mother, there’s nothing that can make her happier than to see her children successful in their studies. Without hesitation, Marife is borrowing the amount of 10,000 PHP from GDMPC microcredit to repair her transport vehicle used in her business and provide her children a better education. She joined GDMPC in 2011. Her plan in the future is to hopefully improve her business.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
