It is made up of nine members and is led by a board of directors of which Gabriela is the Secretary. The businesses that the communal bank members have are varied. Among them, we have: a neighborhood store, sewing, event catering, selling toys, selling hardware, selling clothes and cosmetics.

Gabriela indicates that a year and ahalf ago she joined Pro Mujer. She jpined at the invitation of her father, who has been a member for a while. Right now, she has a business selling electronic materials. She says that she got to know this business when she works with her godmother. Later, she opened her own business.

The loan that she is talking out now is to grow her capital (buying radios). She will buy these from distributors and later sell them at her store. This work allows her to generate resources to support her family as much as possible. She is in a common law marriage with two children.

When asked what she likes about Pro Mujer, she responds that she likes the areas of health and lending.

In the photograph, Alina is missing, since she had to go to a doctor's appointment.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
