Jorge Washintong
Jorge is 21 years old, and he lives in Santiago, a district famous for its hot and welcoming climate and for its agriculture, notably growing cotton, grapes, asparagus and paprika. Various agro-export companies can also be found here, offering many job chances in the district. Whenever he has some free time, Jorge loves playing soccer with his friends and neighbors, and he also loves eating one of his favorite dishes, the delicious “Arroz con pato” (rice with duck). Owing to his meager economic resources, he has succeeded in completing secondary education only, but he would have liked to study Business Administration.

Jorge is a laborer employed in a farm of his district, working with great energy and dedication. He works around 8 hours a day, he is very honest and responsible and he thinks it is for this reason that his job is going very well; on top of this, thanks to his job he helps paying for his household’s expenses, supporting his grandparents in particular.

Jorge is deeply grateful to Kiva lenders, because thanks to their help he will be able to buy medicines and to pay for medical consultations for his grandparents who are seriously ill. Thanks to the loan he will succeed in offering a better standard of living to his grandparents because they have always supported him and above all because he loves them very much. He will then keep on working in order to make his biggest dream come true: “To pursue a career in order to be the pride of his parents and grandparents”.
