Placida
Placida is a 45-year-old woman who is happily married and has three children. She and her family live in the city of Nazca. Placida is a friendly, enthusiastic, and hardworking individual. All of her efforts and those of her husband are geared toward moving their family forward. Unfortunately, Placida was not able to finish her high school studies because she needed to work and help her parents. However, she enjoys what she does. In her free time, Placida likes to watch the news and educational programs on TV. On a few occasions, she prepares the delicious “locro” (Peruvian squash stew) to share with her family.


Through her own initiative, Placida works with great effort and dedication each day at her small business of selling cheese. She also earns some income by selling beer. Placida works at her business approximately 10 hours each day. She enjoys her job and believes she is doing well since her customers recommend her because of her good prices and friendly service.


Placida is extremely grateful to the Kiva lenders. Thanks to the assistance they will provide, she will be able to make improvements to her home. She wants to add finishing touches such as plaster, paint, floor tiles, and windows to her home. This will provide her family with greater security and well-being. These improvements will also result in a more comfortable and pleasant environment in which her children can develop. In the not-so-distant future, Placida wants to completely finish the construction of her home so that she can start a small grocery business in order to secure an education and a future for her children.

Placida es una mujer de 45 años, se encuentra felizmente casada y tiene 3 hijos, con quienes vive en la ciudad de Nazca, ella es una persona muy amable, entusiasta y trabajadora, que dedica todos sus esfuerzos junto con los de su esposo para sacar adelante a su familia, lamentablemente por la necesidad de trabajar y ayudar a sus padres, Placida no pudo culminar sus estudios secundarios, pero le hubiera gustado poder hacerlo; en sus ratos libres le gusta ver programas educativos y noticieros en televisión y en algunas ocasiones cocina un delicioso Locro para compartir con su familia.
Por iniciativa propia, con mucho empeño y dedicación, día a día Placida trabaja en su pequeño negocio de venta de queso y adicionalmente para obtener algunos ingresos vende cervezas; ella dedica a su negocio un aproximado de 10 horas diarias, ella se siente a gusto realizando su labor y cree que le va bien ya que sus clientes la recomiendan por sus buenos precios y por su trato amable.
Placida se encuentra muy agradecida con los prestatarios Kiva, ya que gracias a la ayuda brindada podrá realizar el mejoramiento de su vivienda, ya que desea poder realizar los acabados, tales como: tarrajeado, pintado, puesta de piso y ventas para su hogar; de esta manera Placida podrá brindar mayor seguridad y bienestar para su familia, así como un ambiente mas cómodo y grato para el desarrollo de sus queridos hijos, y en un futuro no muy lejano desea poder terminar la construcción , y en un futuro no muy lejano desea poder terminar la construcción total de su vivienda para poder iniciar un pequeño negocio de venta de abarrotes, para con ello poder asegurar la educación y futuro de sus hijos.
