Ra is 42 years old, married and has five children. The family resides in Prey Veng Province, Cambodia. She has been involved in cultivating rice and fattening up animals for more than 20 years, earning approximately $4 daily. Her husband helps her run the business. Two of her children are employed by a garment factory. They earn about $6 each day. Due to the difficulty in her family’s transportation, Ra is requesting a loan of $1000 to purchase a motorbike for commuting. This purchase would help her reduce the transportation expenses. In the future, she would like to run an additional business and send her children to a good school.
