Sophea is 38 years old, married and has four children. The family resides in Kampong Chhnang Province, Cambodia. She has been making clay pots to sell for more than 10 years, earning approximately $4 daily. Her husband is a rice farmer. Additionally, he is a construction worker. He earns about $3 each day. Two of her children are employed. They earn about $6 each day. Due to the difficulty in her family’s transportation, Sophea is requesting a loan of $750 to purchase a motorbike for commuting. This purchase would enable her to use the saved money on her transportation expenses to support the family. In the future, she would like to expand her business and help her children receive a higher education.
