Isaiah is a 36-year-old married man. He has five children and three are enrolled in school. His wife's name is Mary and she is a businesswoman. Isaiah is a farmer and sells his produce from home. He's worked in this business for over 15 years. His primary customers are the community.
Isaiah's other source of income includes his motorbike business. He describes his greatest business challenge to be seasonality due to lack of rain and his highest monthly expense is spent on food. He owns a house that has neither electricity nor piped water. Isaiah will use the KES 50,000 loan to start up a kiosk. He joined Yehu because of their financial product varieties and their policies.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
