Evangeline is a farmer with twenty-five years of experience in the Nkubu area of Central Kenya. She has been producing mainly mangoes and cereals like maize and sorghum for the local market to meet the daily needs of her family of three children.
She has requested a loan of 30,000 KES from Juhudi Kilimo to buy rabbits. She believes she will earn enough income to repay the loan since the number of farmers who are rabbit farming is still limited and their feeds are easily accessible and cheap compared to other animal feeds.
Evangeline says lack of capital and harsh weather conditions are the main challenges in farming.
