Hel is 42 years old. She is married and resides with six children in Prey Veng Province, Cambodia.
She has been involved in cultivating rice and fattening up cattle for more than twenty years, earning approximately $2 daily. Her husband is a motor taxi driver who earns about $3 each day. Two of her children are garment workers. They earn about $4 per day.
Because the present motorbike is old, Hel is requesting a loan of $1,000 to purchase a new motorbike for her husband to run the taxi service. This purchase will help him attract more customers and earn more income to support the family.
In the future, she would like to purchase a Tuk Tuk (a motorcycle pulling a passenger trailer or a three-wheeled motorcycle taxi) to run the taxi service, and send her children to a good school.
