Leonico lives in Bliss, Lapasan, Clarin, Misamis Occidental. He makes a living by providing transportation services, which he has done for 10 years to support the needs of his three children. Leonico earns a monthly income of 15,000 PHP from this business. For a 65-year-old father, there’s nothing more that can make him happy except to see his children successful in their studies. Without hesitation, Leonico borrows 18,300 PHP from GDMPC microcredit to repair his transport vehicle used in his business and to provide his children a better education. He became a part of GDMPC in 2011. His plan in the future is to hopefully improve his business.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
