Talca is in the Maule region, located in the center of the country. It is the administrative, economic and cultural center of the region, being the most important city of the Chilean Central Valley. There is an interesting phrase about Talca: "Talca, Paris and London". In trying to explain this, people say that instead of Paris it was originally "Parece" which means "seems like" thus the original phrase would be "Talca seems like London" because of the large amounts of fog that frequently cover the city during winter, just like the capital of the United Kingdom.
