Dalal is a 50-year-old woman. She lives with her husband Ahmad and their two children. Despite her older age, Dalal is obliged to work continually as she is responsible for helping her husband with their family expenses. Her younger child is also working to supplement the family income, while the other one is still attending school. Dalal started to sell clothes from her home to avoid the expense of renting a place. She provides her customers good quality products at fair prices. She is satisfied with what she has attained so far, even though she most wishes to enhance her family’s way of living. That’s why she’s asking today for a loan from Kiva Partner Ameen s.a.l to purchase a new collection of clothes. In the near future, Dalal wishes to open her own clothing shop and maybe hire employees to help her achieve the work tasks and therefore earn higher income.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
