Rehema is 41 years old and lives with her husband and three children in Kisauni in the city of Mombasa. Her husband helps with her business. She started her fruit retailing business in 2006 by renting a counter in the market. Since she started the business, she has expanded her counter and gained many regular customers.
Now that the dry season is approaching, she needs to increase her supplies in order to meet the market demand. In the future she planning to build her own house. She is a sharp and hardworking woman who says, "Since my business is the only income in the family, I need to make the best of it." She is requesting 50,000 KES to purchase more varieties of fruit in order to increase her working capital.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
