Main De Dieu 2 (#2) Group's story

Philomene, age 50, is single and has five children aged from 13 to 32. She has three children still attending school. She also cares for her elderly mother. Philomene is representing the Main de Dieu 2 (#2) group. She sells used clothing in a market in Brazzaville. She has had this business for 22 years! She has been able to acquire valuable experience and loyal customers through the years. She will use the loan to buy a large bale of used clothes from her supplier. In Congo, used clothing is sold to vendors in large bales to be sorted and sold separately.
Philomene has received three previous loans from Kiva’s partner, HOPE Congo. She has a good repayment record. She hopes to one day travel abroad to buy merchandise for her business. She also plans on using the profits to fund her children’s future education.
