Sofia is a married woman with six children, four of whom attend school. She owns a house that has neither electricity nor piped water. Her greatest monthly expenses are food and school fees.
For the past ten years, she has been operating a retail shop, selling to her neighbours and passersby. She faces the major challenge of high transportation costs in her business. She dreams of expanding to improve her living standards.
With the 40,000 Kenyan Shilling (KES) loan, she wants to purchase maize flour, wheat flour, sugar and cooking oil. She decided to join Yehu to access loans to boost her business. Her dream of having a wholesale remains in her mind even as she works extra hard to ensure that this dream comes true.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
