The 10 members of the BENKADI 2 group, which is made up exclusively of married women, live in polygamous families. Their average age is 36 and they have an average of 3 children. All the women live in the village of Togoya, in Kolondièba, and they met through family and local connections. All of them work in the rainy season.

With the goal of increasing their production, the members joined Soro Yiriwaso and are on their 2nd loan campaign.

Sitan, seated, plans to use her loan to buy seed, fertilizer, weedkiller and picks, as well as to pay for the plowing and weeding of her fields. She wants to plant 2 hectares of rice and groundnuts. Sitan plans to produce 1.5 tonnes of rice and 1.5 tonnes of groundnuts. Some of the crop will be sold in order to repay the loan, the rest will be stored as a food supply. The profit from the sale will also be used for clothing and to pay for various household expenses.

Composé exclusivement de femmes mariées, les 10 membres du groupe BENKADI 2 vivent dans des familles polygames avec en moyenne 36 ans et 3 enfants. Elles habitent toutes dans le village de Togoya, cercle de Kolondièba et se sont connues à travers des liens de voisinage, de parenté et de mariage. Elles mènent toutes une activité hivernale.
Dans le but d’augmenter leurs productions, les membres de l’association ont intégré Soro Yiriwaso et sont à leur 2eième prêt de campagne.
Sitan, la seule assise, compte utiliser son prêt pour acheter des semences, des engrais et des herbicides, des pioches et le labour et sarclage des champs. Elle veut cultiver 2 hectares de riz et d’arachide. Elle espère produire 1,5 tonne de riz, 1,5 tonnes d’arachide. Une partie de ces productions seront destinées à vendre pour le remboursement de son prêt et le reste serait stocké pour la nourriture. Le bénéfice des ventes sera mis pour l’habillement et prendre en charge certains besoins du foyer.

Soro Yiriwaso is a microfinance institution that works primarily in rural and semi-urban areas of Mali to provide underprivileged communities with access to financial services.The organization facilitates access for disadvantaged clients, particularly women, to new resources and services, fostering solidarity and cooperation among its clients. Kiva lenders’ funds will enable Soro Yiriwaso to expand its outreach and target even more underserved Malians involved in business and agriculture.
