Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

A loan of $400 helped to buy grocery products to sell in her store.

Roberta's story

Roberta is 38 years old and is married with two children. With one child in school, she works very hard to provide for them. Roberta has run a general store in the Philippines for the past eight years. She sells a variety of items such as canned goods, snack foods and other groceries.

Roberta has requested a PHP 16,000 loan through NWTF to buy more grocery products to sell in her store. In the future, she would like to save enough money so she can afford to send her children to college.
