Loida is from Aurora, Zamboanga Del Sur, Philippines. She is 38 years old and married. Loida has only one grown dependent. Loida's husband is working abroad.
Loida owns and operates a retail store at home to support her day-to-day needs. For three years, she has been able to manage the store properly. Every month she receives PHP 13,200 from her business venture. To overlay her financial needs, Loida joined GDMPC to have access to financial services. She has applied for and was granted a loan in the amount of PHP 35,000. This is her fifth loan cycle. Loida is a good member of the co-operative.
The loan taken is used to purchase daily use commodities to sell, such as noodles, eggs, salt, vinegar, canned goods, spices, shampoo and more. With the revenue it is feasible to earn, Loida hopes to sustain her livelihood further, and sell more products to increase her regular monthly income.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
