Ketevan is 40 years old from the village of Lesa, in the district of Lanchkhuti. She is married and lives with her husband, Zurab, their 5-year-old daughter and her mother-in-law, who is a pensioner. Zurab works in construction and earns income for the family. According to the government's estimation, the family belongs to the vulnerable poor category and they receive monthly social assistance. Ketevan is busy with agricultural activities. She has a milking cow. She produces cheese and sells it with the milk at the local open market. The family owns a plot of land, where maize and nut-trees are grown. Harvested products are sold locally to retailers. The total average monthly income of the family is approximately 400 Lari.
With the requested credit, Ketevan plans to purchase an additional milking cow. She will get more milk and produce more cheese. This will increase sales and accordingly the family's income. With increased income, she will be able to reinvest in the family agricultural business in order to expand it and make it more profitable. Taking into account the above mentioned, the family's living conditions will be improved.
