Florence lives in Kampala, Uganda. She is single with eight children, five of whom are going to school. She is looking after her mother.
She has been selling charcoal for the last two years from home and sells retail, working six days a week. She does not have any other source of income.
She has requested a loan of UShs 500,000 from MCDT to enable her to purchase more sacks of charcoal for sale. Her major challenges include seasonality. She joined MCDT because she wanted more capital for her business. Her dream is to become a wholesaler. She rents a house without access to electricity or piped water. Her major monthly expenses include school fees and rent.
