Kodi is married and has 2 children, both of whom attend school. She dreams of seeing them achieve success and every day she works to support her family through her business.
Kodi has a restaurant located in the community of Likoni where she sells stews, cream of cheese soup, maize meals and other dishes from her own delicious recipes traditional to the Coastal people. At first, she sold fried foods and natural fruit drinks, including orange, lemon, mango, watermelon and melon. Her business gradually expanded and she added common foods with the goal of catering to the clientele she had already won. Today she has a space in her house that has become too small to support the growth of her business; this is the challenge she faces. She needs to remodel this space and, in the future, move her business to a new location. Her Kiva loan is her first with Kiva Field Partner, Yehu Microfinance Trust. With this loan, she will purchase ingredients such as rice, meats and vegetables in large volumes to earn discounts on cash purchases. She will also purchase tools for the kitchen in order to serve her clients more freely.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
