Mean is 58 years old. She is married and resides with two children in Kampong Chhnang Province, Cambodia. She has been involved in cultivating rice and fattening up animals for more than twenty years, earning approximately $3 per day. Her husband runs a taxi service (motorcycle taxi). He earns about $3 per day. Her children are employed in a garment factory. They earn about $6 per day.
Because their present motorbike is old, Mean is requesting a loan of $800 to purchase a new motorbike for her husband's taxi service. This purchase will help her husband to attract more customers and earn more money to support the family. In the future, she would like to expand her farming business and rebuild her present house to make it more comfortable for her family.
