Trob is 48 years old, residing in a rural area of Dambae district, Cambodia. She is married with four children, two daughters and two sons, who are still in school. She and her husband earn a living through farming rice and planting cassava to support her family. She has been in this business for twenty years earning about 26,000 KHR per day from her current business.
This is the first loan for Trob with Kiva’s partner, VisionFund. Now requesting a loan of 2,000,000 KHR, she wants to use this loan to buy fertilizers and seeds for her farmland and use a portion of it for labor. She hopes this loan will enable her to increase her family’s income to improve her standard of living.
About VisionFund Cambodia
VisionFund Cambodia is a Christian organization and microfinance institution that provides small loans and other financial services to improve the lives of children, empower poor women and their families, and grow successful businesses. The organization works primarily in rural parts of Cambodia and has distinguished itself by targeting the very poor who require smaller loan sizes, regardless of religious beliefs, gender or ethnic background.
Kiva lenders’ funds will help the organization to expand into the northeastern provinces of the country, which have historically been underserved and difficult to reach with financial services.
