The ACHIROBO 4 group is made up of three people who live in the same area, and who belong to the same cooperative banking group. The representative of this group, by the name of Élisabeth, has her hand raised in the photo.
Élisabeth is 40 years old and lives in Bénin. She did not go to school. She is married to a driver named François. They have two children, both in school and living at home. Élisabeth lives with her children. The household expenses are shared between Élisabeth and her husband.
In order to meet the couple's needs, Élisabeth buys fabrics and clothing in a town in Bénin, and resells them on a mobile basis. With the goal of meeting the needs of her customers and in order to grow her turnover, Élisabeth is seeking - together with the other members of the ACHIROBO 4 group, a first loan with ALIDé.

Le groupe « ACHIROBO 4» est composé de trois personnes qui résident dans le même quartier et appartiennent à un même groupe de tontine. La représentante du groupe, du nom de Élisabeth est celle qui a la main levée sur la photo. Élisabeth est âgée de 40 ans et vit au Bénin. Élisabeth n’a pas fréquenté l’école. Élisabeth est mariée à un chauffeur du nom de François. Le couple a deux enfants tous scolarisés et à leur charge. Élisabeth vit avec ses enfants. Les charges de la maison sont supportées à la fois par Élisabeth et son mari. Afin de subvenir aux besoins du couple, Élisabeth achète des tissus et des vêtements dans une ville du Bénin, et les revend de façon ambulante. Dans la quête de la satisfaction de sa clientèle et pour accroître son chiffre d’affaires et son revenu, Élisabeth sollicite ensemble avec les autres membres du groupe « ACHIROBO 4 » un premier crédit auprès de ALIDé

About Alidé

Alidé is a Beninese NGO that works to reduce poverty by offering sustainable access to productive loans like this one in addition to savings, training sessions, and social work to low-income families.

Supporters of this loan should be aware that there is some risk of being repaid late. Because the Beninois Ministry of Finance has imposed restrictions on the amount of money Alidé can send to Kiva, the organization can only send monthly repayments in installments smaller than $13,000. This means that some Kiva lenders may receive their repayments late. However, Alidé remains a healthy institution in good standing with its creditors, and Kiva would like to continue working to support its clients. This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee.
