Najwa is a 32-year-old married woman living with her husband and three children who are still attending school. She is from Lebanon. Three years ago, she started her own business which consists of selling perfumes. She works on her own and sells her products in different areas and villages. Her husband who works in a maintenance local company assists her in paying the high costs of living especially the children's school fees.
Today, she is requesting a loan from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l to purchase perfume bottles and diverse scents in order to be able to produce particular perfumes with unique odors. She notes that the diversity of her merchandise will make her very attractive to customers which will enlarge her sales thus her profit. In the future, she plans to open her own store and in addition sell woman's accessories.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
