Leak is 20 years old. She is married. She lives with her mother and one child in Kampong Chhnang Province, Cambodia. She has been involved in weaving plastic baskets to sell for more than four years, earning approximately $4 per day. Her husband runs a taxi service (motor taxi). He earns about $4 per day.
In order to improve her family’s finances, Leak is requesting a loan of $700 to purchase plastic to use for weaving baskets. This loan is used to purchase plastic baskets from villagers to resell as well. By doing so, she would be able to earn more income to support the family. In the future, she would like to expand her business and send her child to a good school. Moreover, she hopes to rebuild her present house to make it more convenient for her family.
