Lucia is a 57-year-old lady, a single mother of three children who only lives with two of them who are still minors in a village in La Carrosa, Victoria Municipality, Yoro.

She's very enterprising. She's worked hard her entire life to support her family. She started out selling food and bread from place to place and 12 years ago decided to start growing rice, corn and beans. She also buys pigs to butcher and is always looking for other opportunities to earn income.

She's kept these business activities going thanks to several loans and is currently askig for her 14th loan to invest in corn, rice and bean crop maintenance. She will buy fertilizer and pay labor costs.

She hopes the investment will lead to better quality production that will allow her to earn good income. Her personal goal is to give her children and grandchildren in her care a better life and her business goal is to improve production.

Ella es muy emprendedora toda su vida a trabajado duro para mantener a su familia, inicio vendiendo comida y pan de forma ambulante y hace 12 años ella decidió cultivar arroz, maíz y frijoles, además compra y vende cerdos para el destazo, siempre busca tener otras opciones para generar ingresos. Estas actividades de negocio las ha mantenido mediante la inversión de varios préstamos. Actualmente el préstamo que está solicitando es el catorceavo y lo va invertir en el mantenimiento del cultivo de arroz, maíz y frijoles, comprara fertilizantes y pago de mano de obra. Espera de esta inversión una mejor producción de calidad que le permita obtener buenos ingresos.
Su meta personal es poderle dar una mejor vida a sus hijos y nietos a su cargo y en el negocio mejorar la producción.
