Rosa Melania
Rosa lives in Duran in the suburb know as Los Helechos. She has her own house built of cement which has light and running water. Few neighbourhoods in her area have sewerage systems or paved streets.

At 27 years of age, she is married to Angel, with whom she has 2 school age children.

At home, Rosa has a sewing workshop, which she started with her husband's help. She learnt the job 10 years ago because her mother was in this profession and enjoyed it. As her husband was employed by a business she helped with their expenses by taking in clothes for repairs when her customers requested it.

It was when her husband left work that they began to equip the workshop, with the settlement they bought some industrial machines and both worked hard to achieve results. Now, she has various employees who do the sewing as her main customers are small businesses and local sales people.

She comments that, as she lives in an area where the roads are not paved, her main difficulty is transportation and its cost.

With the loan she is going to buy another industrial machine and fabrics for sewing.
