Sineat, aged 34, is the breadwinner of his family of two dependent children, one daughter and one son. He lives in a rural area in the Sa Ang district of Kandal province. His daughter is still in school while his son is not yet of school age. For the past 10 years, Sineat and his wife have earned a living by planting beans and cucumbers, earning nearly 20,000 KHR per day.
This is Sineat's first loan with VisionFund. He will use this loan to buy seeds for farming and to repair his house. Sineat hopes to grow his business and earn more income to make a better living and to keep his daughter in school.
About VisionFund Cambodia
VisionFund Cambodia is a Christian organization and microfinance institution that provides small loans and other financial services to improve the lives of children, empower poor women and their families, and grow successful businesses. The organization works primarily in rural parts of Cambodia and has distinguished itself by targeting the very poor who require smaller loan sizes, regardless of religious beliefs, gender or ethnic background.
Kiva lenders’ funds will help the organization to expand into the northeastern provinces of the country, which have historically been underserved and difficult to reach with financial services.
