Luz of Poblacion, Aurora, Zamboanga del Sur has been raising pigs for more than 4 years and earns 22,815 per month. She’s 49 years old now yet continues to hang on with her piggery livelihood to give adequate livelihood for her two children. She became a member of GDMPC in 2008. In order to enhance her livestock upon selling, she is borrowing the amount of 24,000 PHP from GDMPC microcredit to purchase feeding supplies. Luz hopes that someday, her children will be successful in their careers.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
