Lorena Teresa
Lorena was born in January 1991. She lives in Solanda with her husband and daughter. This is a neighborhood in the south of Quito, the capital of Ecuador. The city of Quito is located on the Andean mountain range, 2,800 meters above sea level. It is the third highest capital city in the world. In 1978, Quito was named the first World Heritage Site by UNESCO because of its landscape which combines nature and infrastructure in a unique way in its category. Quito is divided into thee parts: the historic center where colonial Quito is preserved; the north, where the upper classes traditionally live; and the south, known as the 'poor side' of the city.

Lorena started a business selling footwear three years ago. Her husband is a private employee and she works from 8.00am to 8.00pm. Lorena finished high school but couldn't continue her education as her daughter was born and she had to work hard to provide for her well-being. This is what motivated her to open her business and what motivates her to continue growing it. She is requesting this Kiva loan so that she can buy and sell more materials and to get people to help her in transporting it all because it is very heavy for her to do alone. In this way, she will be able to provide her daughter with a better future and buy her own house in the future.
