Elene is 44 years old. She lives in a small village of the Khoni district with her two children. She is a widow. She had to deal with great difficulties throughout her life, but her determination to get ahead has always allowed her to overcome them and continue progressing with her family.
Elene runs an agricultural business. She has a milking cow and produces cheese every day. Elene sells cheese on the local open market. She is busy with farming also. She has one hectare of land where she grows maize. Part of the harvested maize is used by the family and the other part is sold on the local open market. The total average monthly income of the family is 430 GEL.
Elene requested a loan for purchasing a milking cow. She will be able to produce and sell more cheese. Thus, she wants to expand her business in order to earn a good profit. With increased profits, she will be able to reinvest in her agricultural business, as well as spend more on the family’s daily needs and their living conditions will be improved
