Nargiz and her husband run an agricultural business. They have 2 milking cows, 2 calves and a pig, and they produce cheese. They work hard and take good care of their livestock. In addition to cattle, the family has a plot of land where they grow maize and maintain a vineyard. Nargiz and Valerian pick grapes in the late summer and make wine. They sell their cheese, wine and maize on the local open market. They sell piglets too in nearby villages. The total average monthly income of the family is 700 Lari.
Nargiz requested a loan to repair her house. The existing house is very old and damaged; the furniture is old and uncomfortable too. With this loan, Nargiz will be able to change furniture and repair the house. The family's living conditions will be improved and they will be able to spend their evenings after hard-working days in a more comfortable environment.

About Housing Loans
Many poor families cannot afford housing that meets their needs. When you make a housing loan on Kiva, you give people access to flexible capital to obtain or improve their homes. Better housing means better health, sanitation, and even educational outcomes for children. A house can also be much more for entrepreneurs who run businesses out of their homes.
