Narcisa is from Lintugop, Aurora, Zamboanga Del Sur. She is 53 years old, widowed, and has four children.
To make a living, Narcisa manufactures and sells nipa (palm) huts to local businesses and community members. She has been in this business for seven years and earns 7,000 PHP a month. In 2011, Narcisa joined GDMPC. She is requesting a loan of 15,000 PHP, which she will use to buy nipa palm to make roofing materials. She plans to use the additional revenue generated from her business to improve the general living conditions of her family.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
