Liza is from San Vicente, Tambulig, Zamboanga Del Sur. She is 33 years old, married, and has two children. To make a living, Liza owns and operates a business planting and harvesting rice for sale. She has been engaged in this business for four years and earns 14,300 PHP a month.
In 2011, Liza joined GDMPC. She is requesting a loan of 35,000 PHP which she will use to purchase fertilizers and seedlings for her next crop. She plans to use the additional revenue generated from the business to improve the general living conditions of her family.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
