A loan of $500 helped to buy pigs and chicken.

Inés Jacqueline's story

Inés is a member of the communal bank Atenas del Ecuador. She lives in the area of Orquídeas in the city of Cuena. This city is surrounded by four rivers which give it the name Santa Ana de los Cuatro Ríos. It's been a World Heritage Site since 1999 due to its beautiful architecture and its people's culture.

Inés is 43 years old, married, and from her marital union has conceived two children who are 20 and 12 years old. Her first son works and helps financially and her second daughter is studying at a high school in the city. Her husband works as an industrial mechanic and the home in which they live is their property.

Mrs. Inés makes a living doing household chores, raising and selling pigs, guinea pigs, and chicken, and has also been cleaning offices for two months, working from Monday to Friday.

This is the third loan she will have with the communal bank and she will invest it in the purchase of pigs and chicken.

Her dream is for her children to become professionals.
