Edward is 50 years old, married and the father of four children who range in age from 13 to 25 years old. Three of them attend a university. He has been a poultry farmer since 2000 and recently entered the hardware business as a way to pay for the high costs of providing a university education to three children at the same time. He operates both businesses in the city outskirts, and has requested a UGX 3,000,000 loan to buy items to sell in his hardware store. His main challenge is the difficulty of transporting items from town to his business location. Edward is an honest man, and is grateful to Ugafode for supporting him, especially when he faced challenges repaying his previous loan because his two sons had just entered their university.
