Mario is 60 years old and is married with 5 children; all of his children are over 20 years old. He makes a living in housing construction, and works as a general contractor. He lives in the Llojeta district of La Paz. This is Mario’s third loan cycle with Emprender. He is going to use the loan to purchase construction materials, since he wants to build his own home. He has asked for this loan because he doesn’t have the capital he needs and he wants to provide his children with a little more comfort. The main challenge Mario faces in his work is that contracts have to be completed in a set period of time, but oftentimes this cannot be achieved; however, Mario does his best to fulfill his contracts. Mario’s wish is to continue enlarging his home and to build apartments.
