It is composed of 10 members who work closely together, having come to know each other very well through their cooperation in the previous cycles. They are very hard-working women with a strong desire to improve in life, and for this reason they always do their best to mutually help each other.
Francisca engages in selling “chipas” (a typical Paraguayan dish), and she has told us that thanks to his job in the committee she has succeeded in improving a lot in her activity, and that she has consequently increase her income and has been able to help her family. She is a self-sacrificing woman who deeply hopes to have a better future.
She is requesting a loan to buy chipas to sell: this will allow her to carry on with her activity, thus succeeding in providing her family with their daily necessities.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
